We met in the summer of 2008: TONI PONS' CALDES were the right-sized heel for my height and came in all the colours under the sun. Plus the buckle clasp meant I could adjust them to the size of my ankle. I had peviously tried CASTAÑE shoes, but they did up with a button which meant I couldn't adjust them and I didn't know that wearing a size 7 1/2 was in fact related to having thick ankles (please don't anyone take offence, I'm just explaining my own personal experience). Let's just say it was love at first sight. For me, the CALDES is a masterwork of comfort and elegance at the same time. It is a shoe that I have found works for any occasion. When I wear jeans I love to match them with my navy blue CALDES. The brown ones are another firm favourite, and I love the red ones because they add a vibrant splash of colour that had never before featured in my summer footwear collection.

The CALDES has two sister shoes, the ROMINA and the PORTBOU. The first is a low-heeled wedge for women who feel more comfortable in flats, and the PORTBOU is the exact opposite: the last word in daring, it boasts a nearly four-inch heel. I personally haven't tried the PORTBOU but I've seen other girls wearing it and I admit it makes their legs seem like they go on forever.

CALDES has been a staple in my wardrobe for years. I have bought it in every colour and I even wore a pair to my son's christening. It has become an essential part of my footwear collection and every year I stock up on a different colour from the new collections.
