Also known as the "Casa de la Ciutat de Barcelona". Historically, the first form of government in the city was the Consell de Cent (Council of One Hundred) which, from 1373 until it ended in 1714, met in the Saló de Cent (One Hundred Hall). Today the Town Hall is the body with the most far-reaching public powers and the most civil servants in the city, as it regulates the daily lives of the citizens.
